AION 2 Japan Release Date: The Current Status
The AION 2 Japan release date question has a clear answer as of October 2026: NCsoft announced and executed the official global launch on October 5, 2026 (confirmed via the official NCsoft announcement). Alongside the global rollout, NCsoft maintains a dedicated Japanese-market presence through the official AION2 Japan teaser page, where the brand is presented as "AION2" — the naming convention Japanese players will see in official Japanese communications.
Japanese players searching for a separate, delayed Japan-only launch should understand that AION 2 launched as a global service, not through the traditional staggered regional releases older Korean MMORPGs used. The Japanese teaser page exists to serve the Japanese audience directly within the global service structure.

How Japan Fits Into the Global Launch
Japan is one of NCsoft's key markets for AION 2, which is why a localized Japanese portal exists from day one. The Japanese teaser page carries official content, trailers, and update material in a Japan-facing format, and Japanese searches overwhelmingly use the AION2 spelling rather than a translated name.
Japanese Teaser Page
- Official NCsoft Japan portal
- AION2 branding
- Trailers and content updates
Global Official Site
- Central hub for all regions
- Account creation and downloads
- Launch news and events
Steam Page
- PC storefront presence
- Community discussions
- Official announcements feed
| Channel | Region Focus | Best Used For |

| aion2.ncsoft.jp | Japan | Japanese-facing content and teasers |
| aion2.plaync.com | Global | Account setup, downloads, news |
| Steam store page | Global PC | PC client and community info |

Choosing a Class for Launch-Window Play
Your first weeks in AION 2 move faster with a class that matches your goals. Japanese and global players alike tend to weigh solo efficiency against group demand during a fresh launch.
| Class | Role | Solo Speed | Group Demand | Difficulty |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Templar | Tank | ★★★ | ★★★★★ | Moderate |
| Cleric | Healer | ★★★ | ★★★★★ | Moderate |
| Gladiator | Melee Damage | ★★★★★ | ★★★★ | Easy |
| Assassin | Melee Burst | ★★★★ | ★★★ | Hard |
| Ranger | Ranged Damage | ★★★★★ | ★★★★ | Moderate |
| Sorcerer | Ranged Area Damage | ★★★★★ | ★★★★ | Moderate |
| Spiritmaster | Control / Utility | ★★★★ | ★★★★ | Hard |
| Chanter | Support | ★★★★ | ★★★★ | Moderate |
On a newly launched server, Gladiator, Ranger, and Sorcerer offer the smoothest solo leveling, while Templar and Cleric enjoy the highest dungeon group demand. Choose based on whether you plan to level independently or group up immediately.
